Music and Wellbeing PGCert

The Music and Wellbeing PGCert is a postgraduate certificate program designed to increase knowledge of the latest research in the field of music and wellbeing, supporting continuing professional development.

Course Overview

This course is ideal for existing practitioners wishing to undertake continuous professional development or students wishing to develop their interests by taking a smaller selection of modules than the 120-credit PG Diploma in Music and Wellbeing or the 180-credit MA Music and Wellbeing course.

Course Structure

• The course comprises two core subject-area modules: Music, Wellbeing and its Evaluation, and Applied Professional Practice.
• Through these modules, students expand their understanding of the relationship between musical engagement and wellbeing and learn to identify the methodological and ethical challenges of researching in real-world settings.

Entry Requirements

• A bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons) or equivalent qualification, preferably in music, psychology, healthcare, arts therapies, sociology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience may also be considered.
• English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
