Business Management (with Foundation Year
- "B" "">" " " " "Sc (Hons): This course is a four-year program with an integrated foundation year, leading to the same qualification as the three-year honors degree.

Course Structure
- Year 1: The student must take 120 credits from the modules, including Academic Skills, Economics, Introduction to Data Science, UK Government and Society, Data Analysis, Business Functions, Business Law, Management Studies, Financial Accounting, and Media Studies (News Media).
- Year 2: The student must take 120 credits from the modules, including Principles of Management and Organisation, Management and Enterprise, Introduction to Contemporary Management Issues in Ethics, Sustainability, Human Resource Management (HRM) and Tourism, Principles of Management Accounting, and optional modules.
- Year 3: The student must take 120 credits from the modules, including Operations Strategy Across the Enterprise, Business Information Systems, Management Planning and Coordination, Commercial Awareness and Insight of Work, and optional modules.
- Year 4: The student must take 120 credits from the modules, including Business Development within an Ethical Agenda, Strategic Management, Enterprise, Creativity and Innovation, and optional modules.

Business Management (with Foundation Year) BSc (Hons)
Degree Overview:
This four-year course with an integrated foundation year leads to the same qualification as the three-year honours degree in Business Management. It is specifically designed for those who may not meet the entry requirements or have traditional qualifications. The foundation year will expand and strengthen confidence, skills and knowledge, ensuring students are well-prepared and qualified to progress into Year 1 of the undergraduate degree.
Outline:
- The foundation year (Year 0) offers expansion and strengthening of confidence, skills and knowledge, preparing students for Year 1 of the undergraduate degree.
- Course content: Students learn about business organizations, develop a broad understanding of their development, strategies, decision-making, internal resource organization, risk and uncertainty management.
- Business and marketing case studies: Form an integral part of many modules, especially during later stages of the program.
- Specialised topics: Entrepreneurship, international business, business economics and business law.
- Placement Year: Optional year where students work with a self-sourced organization relevant to their degree subject (minimum period: 7 months).
- International Experience Year: Optional year where students study or work abroad, with the addition of 'with International Experience' to the degree title.
Assessment:
Assessment methods include continuous assessment and written examinations. Students complete assignments collecting and analysing information from commercial databases or the internet, preparing business case studies, writing essays and problem-solving exercises.
Teaching:
- Up to 15 hours per week in lectures, seminars and tutorials.
- Mixture of continuous assessment and written examinations.
- Opportunities to fully consider the placement year and International Experience Year options at appropriate times during the program.
