Entry Requirements

1.5-year program

2-year program

• A completed three-year full-time (or equivalent) engineering or engineering technology in a mechanical engineering discipline with a minimum 4.00 (on QUT's 7-point scale); or
• A completed four-year full-time (or equivalent) bachelor degree in the mechanical engineering discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.00 (on QUT's 7-point scale).

Course Structure

• To graduate with a Master of Professional Engineering, you must complete 192 credit points of course units consisting of:
  • 84 credit points of core units, including advanced research skills and research-based project units, two professional practice units, an advanced discipline unit, and an engineering design unit.
  • 108 credit points of discipline units from your specialization, to be selected from a list of options.
• You are also required to undertake 60 days of approved work experience in the engineering environment as part of your Work Integrated Learning.
